Qigong (chee-kung) is a self-healing modality. Translation of qigong is qi=energy and gong = cultivation. Defined, qigong is the cultivation of the body’s energy.

We view the mind and body as an entire whole. The mind controls the body, qigong uses meditation to calm the mind which in turns relaxes the body to perform qigong postures.

Physical benefits of qigong include pain relief, strength and tone of muscles, balance and stability. The mental benefits include relaxation, improved concentration, patience, focus and stress relief.

Research into this ancient practice continues at Harvard Medical School, Mayo Clinic and Tufts University.
